Business Process Management Study results

AIIM - The Enterprise Content Management Association released results from its new Industry Watch study "BPM: Not Just Workflow Anymore." The study of over 800 end users, found that although most organisations have embarked on Business Process Management (BPM) initiatives, there exist few best practices.

According to Carl Frappaolo, AIIM's Vice President, Market Intelligence, "Despite the great potential benefits associated with BPM, there exist many challenges to doing it right. BPM initiatives must be preceded by clear executive leadership, detailed process design and a business strategy ripe with internal culture issues. Education at all levels of the organisation should be undertaken early on.

Integritie successfully upgrade a large Insurance Company

Integritie was contracted to perform a IBM Content Manager upgrade/migration for CM/400. The customer was on CM/400 with WAF V4R1 (unsupported) and needed to migrate to CM/400 with WAF V5R3. Their full system backup was taking 24 hours (2TB of data) daily, which would not provide a quick enough recovery should a system failure occur. The company relies on this system for a critical line of business application which integrates with CM/400 WAF (iSeries). The system is critical and no downtime was allowed. Integritie designed the migration plan for the customer to minimize business impact, and used a technique to replicate the CM/400 to the test system and completed a two step migration on the test system 1 week prior to cut-off. During cut-off, Integritie synchronized the test system with production. Re-ran the migration and replicated the production environment with converted data. Over 7 million documents were migrated.
